The film features Pooja Hegde as the female lead with Aayush Sharma and Zaheer Iqbal in key roles. Bollywood Hungama has exclusively learnt that Salman, Sajid and Farhad are in discussions to change the title of the film. "They want to change the title from Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali and rename it. They are contemplating on several titles and a new one will be locked very soon," a trade source told Bollywood Hungama. "The real reason to change the title is to avoid any sort of controversy around the film's release. Both Salman and Sajid respect all religions, however, didn't want anyone to misconstrue their title Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali as something that makes fun of two festivals. Hence, the hunt is now on for a fresh title."   Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali  tells the story of a family that believes in the on

Happy Birthday Anushka Sharma, the box office queen who keeps breaking stereotypes and setting new trends every now and then!

The Bollywood industry churns out a record number of films every year. A lot of leading actors and actresses feature in these films. But interestingly, only a select few actors out of these can be called crowd pullers. The unfortunate fact is that when it comes to actresses, the number is even less. Till the 90s and early 2000s, we had a lot of actresses whose presence added a lot to the film’s buzz. At present, we have a handful of heroines that fit in this category. And one such artist is Anushka Sharma, who turns 33 today. A conversation on present-day popular actresses of Bollywood is incomplete without her. She’s mentioned in the same breath as Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt. Only actress with 3 Rs. 300 crore grossers And why not? She has worked in 19 films and her box office track record is praiseworthy. Three of her biggest hits were with a Khan each – Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (with Shah Rukh Khan), PK (with Aamir Khan) and Sultan (with Salman Khan). She i

4 Times when Rishi Kapoor played villain

Image
Rishi Kapoor always grumbled about not getting to do black or grey. “Why are they always casting me as a bhala insaan ? There is dark side to every human, me also. I’m dying to explore that,” he once told me. It isn’t as if he never got to play negative roles . He did. Take a look at these. 1. Zehreela Insaan (1973): Right after his star launch in  Bobby , Rishi wanted to play a diametrically opposite character. While Raja in  Bobby was pure-hearted, simple kind and generous Arjun in Zehreela Insaan was ill-tempered, foul-tongued, brutish and unpredictable. The only one who could control him was his Masterji, played by Pran (who had played his tyrannical father in  Bobby just months earlier). In a fit of rage Arjun kills his beloved Masterji and then jumps to his death with his girlfriend Margaret (Neetu Singh). No wonder, Zehreela Insaan flopped miserably. It was a remake of the Kannnada hit Naagarhaaavu . R D Burman even adapted one of the songs from the original Haavina dwe

Image
The biggies that were patiently awaiting their chance in movie theatres have one by one by one decided to shift loyalties to the digital platform. The latest on that front is director Ranjit Tiwari's period thriller Bellbottom featuring Akshay Kumar in the lead. The producers Nikkil Advani and Pooja Entertainment had categorically denied any plans to opt for the digital option. And the film was poised for a theatrical release. But now seeing the way the Covid crisis is heading, chances of  Bellbottom  keeping its 28 May release date in movie theatres seems impossible. The film is now being sold to Disney+ Hotstar for an early digital premiere. Confirming this development, producer Nikkil Advani says, “I believe it is being considered. But the final monetizing lies with Pooja Entertainment.” Interestingly this is Disney-Hotstar’s second premium acquisition featuring Akshay Kumar.
