Jawan Audio Launch: Vijay Sethupathi recalls he did not approach his school crush who ‘loved’ Shah Rukh Khan; SRK gives a witty response, ‘You can have your revenge but not my girls’

Megastar Shah Rukh Khan dazzled the audience in Chennai along with the director Atlee, actors Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Priya Mani and music composer Anirudh Ravichander at the grand audio launch of the film at Sai Ram Engineering College. The superstar received a grand welcome at the event. While addressing the crowd, Sethupathi recalled how he couldn’t approach his school crush who was a fan of Shah Rukh Khan, so he became a villain in Jawan to take revenge. But, SRK had a witty response.

On stage, Vijay Sethupathi said, “When I was in school, I was in love with a girl. But she didn’t know. Every Jaanu has a Ram after all (his 2018 film ’96). But that girl was in love with SRK. It has taken these many years to have my revenge.”

In his trademark witty way, SRK responded, “Everyone here spoke in Tamil and I am sure they all spoke good things about me. Except for Vijay Sethupathi, who was talking about a girl? Let me tell you one thing sir, you can have your revenge but not my girls. They are mine.”

Jawan is a Red Chillies Entertainment presentation directed by Atlee, produced by Gauri Khan, and co-produced by Gaurav Verma. The film will be released worldwide in theatres on September 7, 2023, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.
