KBC 16: Amitabh Bachchan makes a promise to contestant about building toilets at his home after listening to his story about how his mother and sister survive

Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 is currently winning hearts of the audiences with many contestants sharing their journey of challenges and difficulties which often leaves the host Amitabh Bachchan emotional too. Recently, the megastar-host came across one heart-wrenching story of a contestant whose village lacks basic amenities like toilets. The contestant confessed that his mother and sister have to bath in open surroundings because they do not have bathrooms. Followed by his revelation, an upset Amitabh went on to promise that he and the makers of the quiz show will be helping him build toilets.

During the show, the contestant named Jayanta said, “Meri mummy ko toh aadat ho gaya hai par meri choti behen jab talabo mein nahati hai toh bahut sharamindagi hoti hai ki uska bada bhai ho kar mai uske liye kuch nahi kar sakta (It is deeply shameful for me as a man to see that my mother and sister have to bath in public ponds and public spaces and I feel helpless that as a brother and son I am unable to do anything for them).” Responding to his confession, Amitabh replied, “Jayanta, aapki baat sun kar dukh hota hai, ashcharya bhi hota hai ki humare Bharat mein kuch sthaan aise bhi hai jahan par jo aam suvidhaaye hai sabke liye vo nahin hain (This has really saddened me. In fact, I am even more shocked knowing that India still has locations where they lack even basic facilities).”  He went on to add, “Lekin jo baat aapne kahi ki aapki behen or mata ji ko khule mei nahana padta hai, ye bahut hi dardnaak baat hai, sharamnaak bhi hai (I am deeply hurt and ashamed by what you have confessed about your mother and sister bathing in public spaces).

Furthermore, the actor went on to ask Jayanta about the cost of building a toilet in his village and the latter revealed that it would cost about Rs. 40 to Rs. 50,000. After that, the host went on to promise that irrespective of whether Jayanta wins the show or no, he asserted that he will ensure that the latter gets toilets in his home. “Toh bhaishaab aaj yahan se nishchint ho kar jayega kyuki aap bhale hi kitna hi jeete ya na jeete. Hum apni or se dekhenge ki kam se kam aapke ghar mein ek shouchalya aavashya banwaaye (So you can walk out of this show with no worries. Irrespective of whether you win or don’t, I assure you that I will ensure from my side that at least the toilet and bathroom facilities for your house is provided and taken care of).”
